It often happens that you want to know the name of the owner of a particular domain or website or; it might seem strange but it is not at all, that you have lost your data used during registration.
Although this data is important and should be kept carefully by the owner of the domain, I have repeatedly come across cases in which the manager of the company has no idea who registered the domain and what data was used.
Do not worry, if you find yourself in this situation there is a function called “whois” from the English “who is” which means “who is” that can come to your aid.
The easiest way to use it is to connect to one of the many free online services that allow you to retrieve the data of our interest.
Here is what I use on a daily basis:
This is a service that I have been using for several years; simple and intuitive, it can also provide additional information such as Whois History, Hosting History, Monitor Domain Properties, Reverse IP Address Lookup and more.

It may happen that some of the above data is not displayed.
This can happen because during the registration phase the Registrant has activated the “Privacy Whois” which allows the obscuring of a part of the data entered and which also varies according to the extension of the registered domain.
For example, in the .it domains, according to the provisions of the Italian Authority, at least the “name” and “organization” fields of the Registrant, Admin and Tech contacts must be visible.
